Ashfold Chronicle
★★★★★ 4.5
Ashfold Chronicle surprised me by having writing I actually wanted to follow. You lead a party of four through a crumbling kingdom, and battles play out on a small tactical grid where positioning and turn order win the day.
The phone controls are thoughtful. You drag characters into position and tap to queue actions, with a preview showing damage before you commit. It makes the fights feel like puzzles rather than button-mashing.
My one tip: don't ignore the support classes. I spent the first few hours stacking damage and kept dying to a healer boss. Balance your party and the mid-game opens right up.
What we liked
- Grid combat with real tactics
- Story that earns your attention
- Clear action previews before you commit
